SUMMARY by Compiler Peter Candido The 2019 Vancouver Christmas Bird Count took place on December 14th under good conditions, ranging from cloudy with showers in some areas and some clear patches in the morning to broken clouds and partly sunny in the afternoon.  Winds were light at 6-9 km/h. and visibility was very good for the coastal portions. Members of Nature Vancouver are invited to submit photographs for the annual photo competition. Photos may be submitted during the month of February to Ron Long by EMAIL. All entries and winners will be presented at the general meeting on March 26. Judges will select first, second and third in each category plus the best in show. Twenty two members and two guests participated in this walk to start the new year. We started at Garry Point Park, at the South West corner of Richmond, and walked first around the park and then along Richmond West Dyke to Williams Road and back to Steveston for lunch at Shady Island Sea Food and Bar.
