Nature Vancouver’s new “Fifth Night” series
CPAWS seeks to protect wilderness in every corner of BC and deep into the ocean. It advocates for large parks, protected areas and wilderness corridors – places like the Tatshenshini, Muskwa Kechika, Northern Rockies, Pacific Rim, Gwaii Haanas and the Bowie Seamount.
Jessie will review CPAWS’ highest priority conservation campaigns on the BC landbase at the present time. These include an update on the proposal for the South Okanagan Similkameen National Park Reserve, protection of the Flathead River Valley, a new national park in North Western BC and its current campaign for improved funding for BC’s Provincial Parks.
Jessie brings over six years of experience working on regional and national issues within the environmental non-profit sector. She presently manages CPAWS-BC’s terrestrial conservation campaigns, working to protect treasured places like the Flathead Valley and the South Okanagan grasslands. She carries with her a deep respect for BC’s incredible lands, wildlife, and people, and more often than not, can be found in a tent on top of a mountain.
