DESCRIPTION:<p>Join Istvan Orosi for a half-day bird walk around Burnaby&rsquo\;s Deer Lake. We will be looking for early migrants\, over wintering passerines and waterfowl. Recently Anna&rsquo\;s hummingbirds became residents around the lake. With some luck we can see more than one. Bring hiking boots\, rain gear\, sunscreen and lunch. SUMMARY:Birding field trip to DeBoville Slough / Minnekhada RP
DESCRIPTION:<p>Join <a href=\\"mailto\:lawrencecowan@shaw.ca\\">Larry Cowan </a>for a birding trip to Coquitlam's Deboville Slough / Minnekhada Regional Park.&nbsp\;Osprey\, hummingbirds\, and swallows should be back on their breeding grounds. Spring migrants will also be moving through the area and&nbsp\;with luck we should catch a glimpse of Sandhill Crane\, Red Crossbills\, Band-tailed Pigeon or Western Meadowlark. We have averaged over 40+ species on this outing with a high of 51 in 2002.&nbsp\;Meet the leader at the parking area at Victoria &amp\; Cedar Drives in Port Coquitlam at 0900. SUMMARY:Cove and Mountain Forest Park\, North Vancouver
DESCRIPTION:<p>A 4 to 5 hour botanical/geology hike along trails within Cove and Mountain Forest Park\, District of North Vancouver. The highlight of this walk will be a grove of old growth Douglas-fir that survived the logging of the area. Other highlights will be the view point at Grey Rock (Quarry Rock) and a giant old growth Douglas-fir once used as a Bald Eagle nest tree. Meet at 0930 hours for car pooling at Parkgate Mall outside Safeway. We will then proceed to the trail head at the intersection of Indian River Road and Francis Creek where there is limited parking.
