2017 Summer Camp
Driftwood Lodge, Smithers
July 23-30 and July 30-August 6
The 2017 summer camp will be at the Driftwood Lodge, about eight kilometres northeast of Smithers in the Bulkley Valley. This will be a “drive -in” camp based at a private lodge with ample camping space on the grounds of the property and spectacular views across the valley. Hiking opportunities are widespread, including Hudson Bay Mountain and the Babine Mountains. Many easier walks, birding hotspots and nature tours are available, as well as cultural heritage sites. For information on the 2008 Smithers camp, see this link.
Two weeks are being offered with a maximum of 45 campers per week. If there is insufficient registration for both weeks only one week will go ahead. This camp is fully catered starting with Sunday dinner through to a packed lunch on the final Sunday.
The cost of this camp will be $700; children under 16 years old are half price ($350) and families are heartily encouraged. Complete registration details are available for download as an attachment on this page. Adobe Acrobat is needed to open these files; if you don't have it you can download it here.
You must be a member of Nature Vancouver to attend; see the Membership tab at the top of this page. Priority will be given to those who are members as of 31 December 2016. If you do not have access to a computer please contact Elly Brok, Registrar, in January at 604-438-1871 or Nigel Peck, Camp Chair, at 604-255-0121.
